Altitude Gin has just won the most important wine and spirits competition in the world judged by women buyers – the Women’s Wine and Spirits Awards. With Gin being the UK’s favourite spirit, winning a Gold WWSA medal, is highly impressive.
Founded in 2017, Altitude Gin is blended with delicious mountain botanicals including European myrtille berries. Born in the unique and super-cool ski resort of Chamonix, Altitude Gin has a twist of adventure and exploration, inspired by the ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc.
The Women's Wine and Spirits Judges were dazzled by the calibre of wines and spirits presented. Held in Knightsbridge, London, at the Royal Yacht Club, 100 of the world’s most influential female buyers assembled for the historic occasion. Spirit buyers at top retailers, importers, and hospitality entities including Waitrose & Partners, Bibendum, Enotria & Co, 67 Pall Mall, and The Arts Club took part in the blind tasting.
‘We are delighted that our Altitude Gin performed so well at Women’s Wine and Spirits Awards 2020’, reported Kirstine Newton, Co-Founder of Altitude Gin, ‘To be appreciated by female buyers and consumers, whom we hold in such highest esteem is hugely rewarding. We will be proudly displaying that Altitude Gin is now a Gold WWSA Medal winner, which not only helps to promote our products in both domestic and international markets, but also raises awareness of the pressures of economic development and climate change that Mont Blanc faces.’
Having recently been also awarded a Silver medal in the prestigious 2019 International Wine
and Spirit Competition (IWSC) under the highly competitive London Dry Gin category, Altitude
Gin appears to be reaching extraordinary heights.
