Wellness and Education: Q&A with MrandMsWonder

Following their launch this week, DTC Daily speaks to MrandMsWonder co-founders Subha Ganesh and Ash Puri on what benefits CBD products offer, why stringent product testing is standard across their store and why education is needed in this burgeoning space.

Why did you decide now was the time to launch MrandMsWonder?

The legalisation of CBD has brought about a landmark change in the mindset of the governments and people alike. CBD has benefited a lot of people for different reasons. However, the proliferation of CBD products has left a lot of confused consumers in its wake. There are different quality grades, use cases, and application methods, all nuances which customers may not be aware of. We realised there was a lack of transparency and trust in this growing market and thus decided to start MrandMsWonder.

Our ambition is to educate consumers on all CBD-related questions, offer a curated offering of high-quality certified CBD product, and to guide customers to a community of fellow CBD users who have benefited from the advantages of cannabidiol.

How has your previous retail experience helped you with the launch?

We are two founders with previous retail e-commerce experience with leading brands such as ASOS, Reiss, etc. We would like to adopt the same principles which have transformed the online fashion retail industry for the supplement (CBD) industry. With our previous retail experience, we aim to simplify the space to improve the user awareness, understanding, and shopping experience, to help consumers whilst researching products to suit their personal requirements.

CBD products have taken the e-commerce world by storm recently - why the upsurge in popularity?

Remedies for curing different health issues have been broadly chemical over the last century, with multiple resultant side effects which in some cases we have learnt to live with. However, traditional medicines, like Ayurveda or Chinese, have been plant-based since their origins. As information exchange increases, people have become more aware of alternative remedies and are starting to use them.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a plant-based product and is shown to have provided relief in cases relating to multiple issues like pain, anxiety, stress, etc. Thus, there has been a growth spurt in the adoption of CBD products, as they are natural and offer significant promise to help with some of our nagging bodily issues, without the concern of the chemical side-effects.

How can you use first party data from your e-commerce site to build the brand, and decide what products you place?

Our vision at MrandMsWonder is to build a community of trust which shares personal experiences and to be a reliable provider offering alternative health and wellness solutions. To build this vision, we are working under strict guidelines with our partner brands. All products listed on our portal are laboratory tested from a recognised facility, the provenance of the products is confirmed to ensure they are legal, each product is tested by us to gauge the different sensory aspects, and we consistently examine previous customer feedback on the brand experience. Moreover, we work closely with different brand partners to relay feedback to help improve the products and thus guarantee the satisfaction of our customers.

How do you plan to raise awareness for MrandMsWonder?

Our ambition is to create awareness on the wonderful effects of CBD and how this can benefit people. Thus, we are working on content creation internally and with the help of industry experts, bloggers, and journalists, to help create awareness on CBD and its potential positive impacts. Moreover, we are trying to build a community of people looking for answers to improve their wellness, and those who have used alternative remedies which have proven effective. In addition to this, we plan to do several events in collaboration with like-minded partners.
